Hi everyone, here’s some facts about all of us Down By The Docks

Leroy The Lobster’s closest cousin is the American Lobster. They live along the Atlantic coast of North America. They are usually bluish green to brown with red spines but some have been known to be blue, orange, bright green and many other colours. They can grow to be 64cm (25in) long and weigh over 20 kilograms (44 pounds).

James Beak is a close cousin of the Macaroni Penguin. They live in Antartica and the southern part of South America. Their colour is black and white with a yellow orange crest over their eyes. The can grow as tall as 70cm (28in) and they can weigh anywhere between 3.2kg (7lb) to 5.7kb (13lb).

Nimala The Slendor Loris is a close cousin to the Red Slendor Loris. They live in Sri Lanka and are on the endangered list. Red Slendor Loris have cousins in India and Northern Sri Lanka. They are reddish brown with some whitish grey on their belly and a touch of silver hair. The Red Slendor Loris can grow to be about 7 to 10 inches tall (180 to 250mm) and can weigh anywhere between 3 and 13oz (85-370g)

Diggy The Blue Iguana is close cousin the Blue Iguanas of Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. They were just taken off the critically endangered list and now are endangered. The colour of the boys can be dark grey to turquoise blue and the girls colour can be olive green to pale blue. A Blue Iguana can grow up to 5ft( 1.5m) including the tail and they can weigh up to 30lb (14kg). They are considered to be the largest lizard in North and South America.

 

Cobo The Pink Oiseaux is a rare bird from somewhere in Canada. It is believed she is descended from a combination of different birds. Her fur is unique and keeps her warm in the winter while she is outdoors. Her family colours can be pink or orange. They can grow about 12 inches tall and weigh about 3lbs.

Gina The Bald Eagle is a cousin to the Bald Eagle. They live all over North America (Canada, the USA and Mexico). The feathers on their body are brown but they are known for their white heads. Bald Eagles can grow as tall as 70 to 100cm (28 to 40 inches) and can weigh between 3 and 6.3kg (6.6 to 14lb).

Akiki The Cheetah is a cousin to the African Cheetahs. Cheetahs are known to live all over Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia. Their fur colour is tan with round black spots. They are the fastest land animal reaching speeds between 96.5 to 104kmh (60 to 65mph) Cheetahs are 110 to 150cm (43 to 59 inches) in length and can weigh anywhere from 21 to 72kg (46 to 160lb). They are listed as a vulnerable species.
